Keeping office printing cost down

Many of you may be in the market for a new printer or have already purchased one only to be shocked by the cost of supplies or unable to find good service. Here are a few tips to assist you in selecting the right machine for your company's needs:

·         consider your office needs/use when determining what kind of printer or copier you should shop for. Will you be printing black and white or color?

·         As a consumer you deserve to have a choice of supplies and suppliers. If saving money is more important, you may want to consider equipment that presents the least restrictions and support companies that can handle all of your needs.

·         Don't underestimate the importance of knowing what service and parts are available and where your local service center is.

·         Before buying a printer make sure about how much their toner cartridges go for cause the purchase price may be inexpensive but that saving may go down the drain when you have to buy toner that is expensive.

·         Take in consideration how much repairs will be if the printer or copier has to be repaired for any reason.

If your aim is to save money:

Refurbished copiers and printers
The option to buy refurbished copiers or printers is also an option but always make sure the counter readings is low and that they test the copier or printer before you decide on leaving the premises, make sure the copier or printer carries  a full factory guarantee.

Prepaid copiers and printers
This is a first in South Africa, PayAsYouCopy supply you as customer with a copier or printer, no long term contracts. The customer pay upfront for the amount of copies needed, after receiving of payment the central office will load the copies to the copier or printer. There is a prewarning system when the credits gets low so that the client does not run out of copy credits. This concept works almost the same as prepaid airtime – very flexible.
